Rinnoji TempleRinnoji, extends north from the center of Sendai, appears to be a little trite temple. However, in addition to the main hall of the temple has a beautiful Japanese garden and pagoda that are well worth a visit.


The temple was founded in 1441 by Date Mochimune, a member of the clan later date that controlled much of northern Japan in the Edo period Rinnoji family is the temple of the Date clan, and although not semper located in its current location in Sendai, then moved with his family at the time of the early 1600. All buildings were recently restored to its original appearance.

Rinnoji visitors to the gardens of the interior can walk along different paths, admire the Koi (carp), the three storey pagoda and well-tended trees, flowers and plants. There are also several benches for visitors to sit and relax, as they have in the landscape.
