Lampung and Krakatau Volcanic Island - Indonesia

Chinese ancient chronicles travel relate to a post in the southern part of the island of Sumatra called "Lampung" or "place of winds from the south." The province is generally flat rally with the highest mountains of Gunung weighing, Tanggamas, Seminiung, Sekincau Raya and all the volcanoes are dormant. Bandar Lampung, the provincial capital, was once two cities, Tanjungkarang and the port of Teluk Betung, which after the infamous eruption of Krakatoa were completely covered with volcanic ash. In the course of development, however, this city, were merged into a single city.
